What you've been quietly picturing
You already know what you don't want. You don't want a ballroom. You don't want 200 plus-ones. You don't want a $34,000 four-hour reception that ends with you packing the car at 11 PM and saying goodbye to half the people you love.
What you've been picturing is smaller. Fifty of the people who actually matter — under one roof, by the Bay, for the whole weekend. The vows at golden hour under the lighted pergola. Family-style dinner on the deck. The fire pit until 1 AM. Sunday morning brunch in pajamas before anyone leaves.
That version is real. This is the house where it happens.
"My wife and I built this home for our own family gatherings, and there's nothing that makes us happier than seeing it used for moments that matter. A wedding, no matter the size, is the biggest of those moments. We'd be honored to have our home be the backdrop for the start of your story together."
— Soul Coulibaly, Owner
The wedding-weekend version of you
Four ceremony spots on the property
Seats 20 under cover. String lights overhead. Golden hour comes through the open side. The single most photographed spot on the property.
Open sky, Chesapeake Bay as the backdrop, fits a 50-guest ceremony with tent or rows. Sunset works particularly well — the light off the water is unmatched.
Covered, railed, more intimate. Best for ceremonies of 20–30 in shoulder seasons (April–May, September–October) when weather is unpredictable.
Twilight ceremony for smaller groups (10–25). Twinkle lights, pergola in the background, the fire lit just after vows. The most cinematic option.
What your photographer will love
These aren't backdrops we hope work. They're the shots couples leave with, every time. Send this list to your photographer — they'll thank you.
The vows
West-facing, golden hour comes through the open side. The string lights catch the late light. This is the single most photographed spot on the property — and the one couples send to their parents to show why they picked this place.
The couple portrait
The light off the water is the kind photographers chase for years. Cargo ships drift past on the horizon — sometimes a Baltimore-bound cruise ship slips by, perfectly timed. The shot your parents will frame on their wall.
The first dance
1,600 sqft, 16-foot ceilings, white walls catching uplight. The sliding door opens to the lawn and the western sky beyond — natural establishing shot, then close-up under the bistro lights. Best dance-floor light on the property.
The candid
Once the formal photos are done and dinner's cleared, the fire pit becomes the cinematic shot. Twenty-plus people around the flames, string lights overhead, the Bay marsh fading to dark behind. Every wedding album needs this picture.
Every room, at the scale a group uses it

The weekend, hour by hour
Friday afternoon
Inner circle arrives. Bedrooms assigned. The bride opens a bottle with her sister on the rear deck. Kids find the playset. Someone discovers the 2 crab traps in the front ditch and decides this is their project.
Friday night
Pizza or low-key catering on the pergola. Fire pit lit at sunset. Twenty people, two bottles of wine, the toasts that aren't on the schedule. The teens claim the upstairs lounge for board games. Bed by midnight — quiet hours start at 10.
Saturday morning
The bride's dad is on the rear deck at 6 AM with coffee, watching purple martins flip through the air catching bugs. Maybe a blue heron at the marsh edge. The bridesmaids take over the upstairs bedrooms for hair-and-makeup with the wide morning light through the French doors.
Saturday late afternoon
Acoustic guitarist plays as guests arrive. Vows at golden hour under string lights. Family-style cocktail hour on the front deck — the photographer gets the sunset portrait while everyone toasts. Plated dinner under the pergola or on the lawn.
Saturday night
First dance in the Flex Barn with the doors open to the lawn. Conversation, not bass. Speeches that don't get cut off by a DJ schedule. Music wraps at 10. Fire pit takes over until 1 AM — the part nobody wants to end.
Sunday morning
Coffee on the front deck. Brunch in the breakfast room. The whole family is still here. Goodbyes that take three hours because nobody actually wants to leave. The opposite of a wedding that ends at 11 PM with you alone in a hotel room.
The rules, said plainly
This is a working watermen community — quiet by 10, acoustic by tradition. The couples who book here are choosing that, not tolerating it. Grandma's bedroom is upstairs; she's sleeping when the music ends. The conversation IS the soundtrack.
Almost every couple who has hosted here says the same thing afterwards: the acoustic ceremony was the right call. The conversations happen. The toasts land. The string lights and the Bay become the atmosphere. Nobody leaves at 9 PM because the bass is too loud. The whole night is louder in a way that lasts.

"We had such a fantastic stay! The house truly lived up to the listing—tons of space for our group of 20, and the layout made it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy. The host was amazing: super responsive, thoughtful, and proactive with details and local tips. The property itself is beautiful and private, with a great backyard and a huge flex barn. The kitchen had everything we needed, and all the linens were spotless. We'd absolutely come back for another stay!"

This was a must for us as we were traveling with elderly parents with limited mobility. The setting is scenic but the location is more remote than some — so good for those looking for a quiet and relaxing time. We enjoyed nearby restaurant called "Old Salty's." We appreciated how responsive the host was to our suggestions and questions. We appreciated small details, like laundry baskets in the rooms as well as Tupperware in the kitchen, puzzles and card games in the sitting area. I believe the host is continuing to add more amenities as guests send more suggestions!"

It was quiet and private enough that we had a great sense of privacy and comfort while still being not too far from stores, restaurants, and other things to do if you want to get outside. The views on the drive in and over the water were incredible"
